Origin of the Name Marloo

Origin of the Name Marloo

Marloo is a term from several eastern Australian Indigenous languages, like Warlpiri 'marlu,' referring specifically to kangaroos, especially the red kangaroo.

This name honors the deep connection to Australian Indigenous culture and the land's original custodians.

Equal Opportunity Logo

The red kangaroo represents the spirit of the land.

The white represents the spirit itself.

The yellow represents the energy.

This design suits the company because, like a kangaroo that only moves forward, we journey with spirit and energy to protect and respect the land we walk on, recognizing that without it we have nothing, and in today's world, it's vital we move forward together.

Stan Yarramanua - June 2025

A MAN CALLED "YARRA"

Stan's personal story is one of resilience, cultural reconnection, and transformation; raised in poverty in Swan Hill and often on the move with his itinerant father, Stan experienced many of the same social, economic, and emotional challenges that continue to impact Aboriginal communities today; like many young Aboriginal men, he faced systemic disadvantage, early exposure to substance abuse, and encounters with the justice system; however, Stan's turning point came through the healing power of cultural identity and art.

By embracing his heritage and artistic talent, Stan gave up alcohol and found purpose through painting and crafting traditional instruments like clapsticks, didgeridoos, and boomerangs; this cultural awakening led to the opening of one of Australia's first privately owned Aboriginal art galleries, where he promoted Indigenous artists from across the country, including remote desert regions; as a cultural ambassador, Yarra has shared his story and heritage internationally, but his deepest focus remains local—uplifting his people and creating lasting opportunities for future generations.

Social Responsibility

Marloo Indigenous Employment Pathways (MEIP)

The Marloo Indigenous Employment Pathways (MIEP) program is wholly funded by Marloo Solutions and is designed to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of all ages in gaining and maintaining employment in the field of their choice.

Each participant is guided by a dedicated mentor who provides tailored, culturally sensitive, practical, and emotional support throughout their employment journey.

Our support doesn't end at job placement — we walk alongside each participant for as long as needed, helping them build confidence, resilience, and experience to thrive, whether employed by Marloo or elsewhere, with every pathway tailored to the individual to maximise long-term outcomes and foster independence in the workforce.

Equal Opportunity Employer

Marloo Solutions is committed to creating and encouraging a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment for people of all cultures and identities.

Marloo's Invisible Footprint

A strong and growing focus for Marloo is environmental sustainability, with a commitment to embedding responsible practices across our service delivery and operations, and a long-term organisational target of achieving net zero carbon emissions.

This commitment aligns with our broader mission of creating healthier, more sustainable futures for both our people and our planet.
